Team

Our team collaborates closely with a number of partner organizations.

Hugh Wiebe

Vice President

Hugh has a long history of entrepreneurial work in the food sector. From his beginnings on the family farm, he built an international egg processing company and developed high technology egg by-products for world-wide consumption. As a result of establishing many businesses in Europe, Central, and South America, Hugh developed a solid reputation in the food business.

Hugh’s Brookside company of chocolate covered fruits and nuts was sold to the Hershey Corporation in 2012.  From those proceeds, Hugh and Barbara established The Wiebe Foundation.

Hugh continues to establish new ventures, serve on a number of select boards, and play a vital role in The Wiebe Foundation.

Barbara Wiebe

President

Barbara spent 10 years in the private sector at IBM Canada Ltd., working in computer operations and programming before moving on to administrative and IT management roles with the BC Government where she worked for the next 25 years. At the time of her retirement, she held the position of Chief Information Security Officer for the Province of British Columbia, responsible for ensuring the security of the government’s electronic records.

Barbara uses her talents and resources to glorify God and benefit others. She and Hugh are passionate about working with faith-based charities to help others, by sharing God’s love and encouraging the gifts each of us have been given by God.

Hank Wiebe

Director

Hank also began his career working on the family farm, and later started a chicken processing plant in British Columbia.  In time, he and Alice moved to California to establish an egg drying and enzyme extraction plant in partnership with Hugh.

Moving to Washington State in 1984, Hank pioneered the production of natural bovine colostrum powders. This business expanded across several states, becoming a premier supplier of natural antibodies to world markets.

As a retiree, Hank brings his expertise and wisdom to the work of The Wiebe Foundation.
